As parents, we sometimes self-evaluate how well we are doing.  In a world where social media is so integrated in our lives, comparison can creep in and we may not always realize it.  Let me encourage you today that you’re doing an AMAZING job!  But what can we do to combat against feelings of doubt?

While we may want to paint the image of having a perfect family, parenting is hard! Yes, I’ll admit it! You can take comfort in the fact that your Heavenly Father is with you every step of the way. The most effective tool we have as parents is to PRAY!

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:33-34

Secondly, talk to your children about God, about his or her role in the Kingdom of God and what they’re learning about God.  We can integrate the Word of God throughout our day, and not just at bedtime with a prayer.

And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. Deuteronomy 6: 6-7

Finally, surround yourself with a support team of like-minded people!  Did you know that resKids has a resParents Facebook group?  We are a family, a community, and we can join forces to win this parenting gig! If you’d like to be a member, shoot me an email or private message the resKids page.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in habit of doing, but encouraging one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.  Hebrews 10: 24-25

Starting in March, we will be posting monthly messages from leaders here at our new website! Resonance is passionate about partnering with you!  We want you to experience the difference so you can make a difference.  Here’s to an awesome 2018!
